UROCK Ensemble - make a career in theatre!
DEADLINE: Sunday 15th October 2017
APPLY BELOW
UROCK Ensemble is an artist development program for school leavers, graduates and emerging artists with an affiliation to the city of Peterborough.
UROCK Ensemble is a group of like-minded theatre artists who would like to develop their own practices in an ensemble setting. Run by local theatre-maker Tom Fox, the ensemble will have the chance to work with various national theatre companies and practitioners, watch and reflect on innovative and world-class performances and create work themselves as an ensemble.
This project is aimed at supporting emerging artists who are interested in pursuing or developing a professional career in the theatre. This can include all artists interested in theatre, including musicians, actors, designers, puppeteers, storytellers, technicians and so forth. It is also a chance to create a theatre company which will make work presented in Peterborough and beyond.
The first term, October - November 2017, will focus on broadening skill base and developing a muscle for reviewing and reflecting on professional performance. The Ensemble will work with a handful of theatre companies and practitioners through workshops and discussions, go on various trips to the theatre and create a work-in-progress performance at the end of the term. The second term will be in February - March 2018 and will continue on from the work in the first term but will respond to the wants and needs of the group.
It is a free program with limited places. All aspects of the program, including tickets and travel to performances are free of charge, in exchange we ask for commitment and a record of your learning and development as an artist. The selected members will be contacted as soon as possible after the deadline so as to prepare for the start of the first term on Sunday 22nd October, which then ends on Sunday 26th November.
